"What type of heels should I wear?"

I bet that this question has crossed your mind at least once, so here are some tips to find your perfect heels to come and concur our classes.

First I want to point out that as long as they are comfortable and you feel beautiful, sexy and a bad ass in them is already more than a perfect start.

But if you want to dive in a bit more, here are some tips to find those prefect dancing heels to make your life just a bit easier in classes :)

No platforms

You want to feel the floor as much as possible, and that will definitely give you more grounded feeling and sense of stability.

Ankle boot

Heels above ankle give you a certain feeling of security and support, so any shoes with adjustable laces, elastic straps, etc. that can hug your ankle are a big YES.

Peep toes / open toes

The front of the shoe should be open, or at least not pointed, as the open toe shoe will give you better flexibility with pointing the feet and bending the shoe, also the floor work will always look more elegant and graceful.

Thin Heel over Chunky heel

Thin heel will emphasize your long lines, give you that beauty in the movement, so stay away from chunky heels. Believe it or not, once you try, you will see that dancing in a thin heel is actually easier than dancing with a wide chunky heel. It takes some of the movement ability away and it looks clumsy and rough.

Heel height

There is no specific heel height that is right or wrong. They usually run from 6 cm to 11 cm, so anything that you feel confident dancing in. Also bare in mind – you can always start with a smaller heel and build up your confidence and skill. We love the process and growth even if it is just in the heel height 🙂

Indoor” shoes

Respect that we are dancing inside so please buy separate heels for dancing and for going out and about. Also the angle of the heel will slightly bend because of the weight transfers and technique that we will practice during the classes. They simply adjust to your feet and they make themselves your Cinderella shoes for owning the classes.

An additional tip

…is to bring extra pair of socks. We will do warm- ups in socks anyway so they can be the same socks. But once we dance and train the feet can get a bit sweaty and the inside of the shoe will maybe get a bit slippery, you can prevent that with putting socks on.
